    Lilliput = Dead Battery?

    Hey, I was wondering, can a Lilliput kill a car's battery if it always remained pluged in but off (with the LED being red)? I leave it always plugged in (but in the off position), and now it may seem like it's draining my battery. Any ideas?

    Yes it can. It doesn't use much, but it uses a little bit.

    There are exact voltage measurements at www.carnetix.com

    Best advice is to do a auto-on mod of some kind, and power it from your Car PC so it turns on/off with that.

    Enforcer, how were you able to take care of that issue in an E36? I have a E46, and my cigarette lighter gets power all the time (even if the car is off), how did you get around that in your E36?

    Use the ACC line (The one that turns the stereo off when you turn off the ignition), some lighter looms are on permanently, the ACC line is only on when the ignition is on.

    I'm currently using the ACC line that goes to the stereo (just put a tap in).

    Although I will probably move it to a constant but have a relay from the ACC switch it.

    Engine off, only for automatically updating the playlists, which is done for about 20mins after parking in the driveway. (no monitor required)

    If I want to actually use the PC then either engine is on, or the key is in the ignition and turned to ACC (no big deal seing as I had to have the keys to get into the car in the first place.

    I just run my lilliput off of the 12v line of the power supply... if the carputer is on, so is the lilli, and vice-versa. Pretty simple.

    So, no reversing camera or playstation through it then?
