Anyone used a Compaq Deskpro EN SFF?

We have just taken over another Telecoms company.
We have brought back all their redundant old PCs, and among them was a bunch of Deskpro EN SFF desktops with 1GHZ P3 processors.

I've got one, that is complete (20gig HDD) except for ram, and we stuck some ram from another machine in another in the same state, and it ran fine.

But, it doesn't use a standard ATX power header on the Mobo.

So I was thinking, if I can get another bare case, gut it, and fit my Epia with 2 card riser, and Opus, and it should still fit under the passenger seat.

Had planned to use a small aluminium project box from Maplin for a case, but it isn't big enough for the WinTV tuner/FM card I have, so the EN SFF would be ideal.

The one I have is too good to gut, so I may just install Linux or Beos on it and add it to my home network, and see if I can find another for the case, that is missing more bits.

    Yes, but not me!

Did you search? There's a thread about connecting a standard ATX PSU to the compaq.

Ah, didn't search. Stupid I know for such a long termer.

Will do that. Still need to make a decision though. Gut the compaq, and fit all my Epia/opus/goodies in it.

Or, use it to replace my Compaq pro workstation dual pentium pro 200 machine that I sue as a network router and server.

It's newer, and has on 1ghz CPU, instead of 2 x200 1meg cache CPUs.
It's IDE, the old one is SCSI.
It should be running cooler than the current one, which in the mini heatwave we are having, has the top slid back, and a 2 foot floor standing fan blowing onto it just to keep the the 4 meg ADSL connection I have, synched and alive.
