Cheap Slimline CD DVD CDRW drives

I just came accross this page:

    http://www.centrix-intl.com/

I was looking for a connector for a slim CD drive to use in my carputer (and I found it ), but it turns out they have a very large line of slim drives and accessories for pretty damn low prices.

(No I don't work for them)

wow... they even have slim CDRW's for $15-20... with 50-100 in stock for some of them... if I were the mp3car store guys, I'd snatch some up and re-sell them here. the deal isn't quite as good if you buy just one drive and have to pay shipping on it alone, but if you could buy it at the mp3car store you could throw it in with a bunch of other stuff to make it worthwhile
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:

I've seen the site before. The prices are pretty good, but you are comparing apples to oranges.

The optical drives they have there, at least the ones posted on the main page, with great prices, are not slot load. While I agree that slot load is not the only type one can use in a carputer, they are more expensive in general.

In my case, I needed a slim drive mainly due to the shock absorbing capabilities and space-saving size. So in my case, it's slim, not slot that's needed as it may be for others. But what got me there is the $4.99 Slim Line CD to Desktop IDE Adapter.

That is a great price. They have great prices. And I agree, slot load is not always needed. But, slot load is what is being sold in the MP3car store.
Just didn't want people to think they were getting the exact same thing from both places.
