    Case Questions - Epia / Opus 90W

Looking to make a case to hold an Epia M10000, Opus 90W and a hard drive, today I found the attached cash box that looks like it might be ideal, however I have a few questions. The case, if you're interested, is a $12 cash tin from Walmart.

As you can see the Epia an the Opus fit quite neatly although it isn't on standoffs yet and height may become an issue. If you look at the side view you can see the sound block pokes up too high although the cover still closes and locks without having to be pressed.

My hope is that I can mount the HD on the inside of the lid where clearance permits.

    So, to the questions:

    1. Should I add any vents? If so should they be above the fan?

    2. Should I add another fan?

    3. Ports - should I jst cut the end out or can I get a template to fit the Epia and mount that in the end to keep things neat?

    4. Should I be concerned about the sound block touching the lid? I assume it will not cause a short, but I could also cut a hole around it but it will then look messy.

    Comment/suggestions most welcome.

    Chris.

    Doubtful.
Backplates are typically cut to match the motherboard.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

What you can do in this case is ask one of the guys that you got the MOBO to take a pic of the backplate and then you make a template and make yourself one in plexy.

I have made a scale template from the diagram in the doumentation on the Opus web site. I think I'll start with a paper cutout and if that looks good either make one out of a think sheet of steel, or plexi or cut the holes straight into my case.
