Computer doesnt like to boot

Lately i have noticed that when i go to my car to boot up my pc, that it wont boot up... most of the time this is after its been sitting in the car in the heat, but shouldnt be hot enough to stop a boot.

If i hold the power button for 10 seconds then hit the button again it will boot but without outputting a vga signal, i hold the button for 10 seconds to shut it off then push it again and it boots up fine...

why would this be happening?

Well to me it sounds like a heat issue. My onboard VGA controller is the first thing that dies on me once it gets too hot in the trunk (BTW; you are American and say boot? That's odd!)
I added two low rpm 80x80mm fans in my trunk and now things are fine
