i dont think there is, since the xbox dvd drive is not a normal dvd drive, as it will read normal dvds/cds etc. its specialy made to read xbox dvds wich are a different format..

nor would you be willing to sell the xbox dvds? as mine went bad

The XBOX DVD drive should work on any IDE bus. It's just that the XBOX won't work without the specially made drives, because it reads that special information and puts it out a special connector.

You should be able to rip it out of the XBOX and hook it up to any MB like any DVD drive.

ya but the power is not the same, i think the power and the audio cable are one in the same on the xbox, you would have to figure out wich wires is for what.

now im sure someone has done did this and you can proboly find it.

the current price of a cdrw/dvd combo drive (full size) is about 30.. its not worth messing about to be honest.. as for the yellow wires, they also carry information as in.. eject, tray in, tray out, disc in, disc out as well as the power for the unit.

Buy a new Xbox mobo on ebay for about 20 and buy a proper PC drive for the CarPC

EDIT: the drives from the xbox will work perfectly fine on a PC if you can hack the power cable and re-plug it for a PC. I have a samsung PC DVD drive in my XBOX so it'll run copies
