if you are using XP, the easiest way is to add another sound card, I got a SB Live on Ebay for $10 .. add another $15 for Mitchs optical connector .. works fine PCR on MB optical and Sirius on SB Live optical ..
by the way the SB sells on ebay

Wow so many questions for this that I am confused. Perhaps Mitch you can break it down for the newbs...

I currently and using Frodoplayer and as it seems, Frodo is working on an interface within his app to use your system... As far as using your system right now though...

I have RCA cables coming from my HU into my computer 3.5 mm plug. I'm using the onboard sound right now and it sounds great to me. My unit into my HU takes 2 RCA inputs and currently I am only using one for my carputer. From the sounds of it, I'd have to get another sound card and purchase your unit along with the Alpine Sirius unit that you linked to earlier in this thread seen here:

    http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...21&flash=flash

Now what are the connections looking like? I have free USB ports on my computer but also serial. I basically connect your unit to my computer and the alpine unit and I'm good to go?

What software would I use right now to even access it?

I'm very interested in this. And there's no service fees I would have to pay to Sirius to get this right?

i certinly wouldnt buy another soundcard because i needed more inputs. but i dont know how frodoplayer works. If you do need additional line ins depending on what source is selected, i would make myself a source selector
and have the software switch sources, assuming i had souce to frodoplayer, or frodoplayer had a cool option, like send string out com port before switching sources. but if that didnt happen, i guess another input devices...

my device takes power, and rs232 and gives you audio on 1/8" plug and jack

unless you know someone at sirius, i think you have to pay service fees

what software is avail, my demo, roadrunner

many people are coding right now... dale on this forum has a nice carpc app
im playing with it now... and fromplanetbob i think is coding... and others

OK I see. I guess I will wait until Frodo comes out with something regarding this. I guess my question is, how would you pay for SIRI sat? Is it you have to register that Alpine Sirius unit?

Anyone know anything more on that? Just trying to figure out how much it will all cost. I have to have Sirius by next year when Howard Stern gets on it

if that link doesnt work just go to
    http://www.sirius.com/
    select get Sirius
    then Plans

    first radio is $12.95 monthly
    2-5 $6.99 monthly

the interface/prg just lets you operate the radio through a PC instead of the
    normal operation

you still have to register with Sirius and activate the radio

    hope this helps

Yeah OK I see. I guess it would make sense to get the $500 one for the lifetime. I really think to get in satellite radio now would be a steal - kinda like gettin in cable t.v. in its early stages.

Yeah I am thinking of lifetime as well, what worries me a bit is Stern's deal, and if they can become profitable. 5 years in advance for the service is a lot to pay, what if they go bankrupt.

Or if they merge wonder if you still get it for free?
