i've gotta have this.
Hello, all...
I have made a USB interface for SIRIUS Connect radios from Directed Electronics.
basicly i allows the unit to be connected to PC and controlled by a pc
just like XMPCR
Im about ready to market it, hardware wize im done... software is still in development, i mean FANCY software, like for TT for xm... I have a DOTNET dll class that fully controls the unit... and could easilly be used in any carputer app. What i want to do is Give one to someone who will test it in a car for me, i didnt directly design it to work in a car... we all know about the cars wonderfull environment. my ANALOG audio is referenced to ground, which is fine at home, but might be a issue in car, I ofcourse have optical out on it, and that clear wont have any ground loops
now if someone is interested in betatesting it, pm me
i know ill get a few... and ill just have to sort through them
i need some marketing done too... and instructions... and well quite a bit
some of you already know my XM products
I have a programmer lined up. I would love to hire George Hatchew, to do it... those who dont know he did xtremePCR. I could code my own... but im just a OK c# programmer, and not suited to do the work.
but the programmer i have now, is a very good c# programmer, and will begin to develope nice sw for recording and such. im sure with the .dll i have, someone could implement it into existing carputer sw
anway....
are people interested in this?
as for which Sirius connect you need... it doesnt matter in a way
the connectors i have line up exactly with the SC-FM1, but a $50 SC-ALP1 will work, just dont put the lid on, or make ur own holes..
NO soldering... just open, pull out existing board, drop mine in
I dont know exact price, it wont be too bad...
i need to know if there is some real interest
thanks all

here is some pictures
i've gotta have this.
I dont have the tuner yet as Canada gets Sirius in September.
On the list when it is available if it will interface with an Eclipse SIR-ECL1 sirius tuner.

Hey I have the SIRALP1 now so I would be willing to beta test it if you like.
What are the features of the software? Is it like the XM stuff?
Let me know (by reply or IM)
I also was trying to work on something like this but work, wedding, moving, etc slowed my plans down
Kudos to you for having gotten this far.![]()

Just getting started...

Hey man, from your screen shot, it seems you have some sort of "communication class" built for your board... if you're willing to share that, I'd gladly work on adding support for controlling your usb interface from Road Runner..
Ride Runner RR's Myspace

"The best things in life are always free - but that doesn't mean money can't buy you good things."
As of right now, there is no real software, just my demo
and a controll class, again i didnt target this for carputers
someone will have to code something for what ever software you carputer people use
it should work with any Sirius connect, its just a physical issue, that if you want the enclosure to close back up, you have to have the SC-fm1, or drill the case yourself.
Ill have more details soon... im trying to figure what i need to get to the beta testers

My stuff is definately getting there. Perhaps we should talk.
I'm working out the bugs with Song Seek and this version also records (but doesn't cut out partial recordings, that would be the next step.)
I see you have other products..... I have a Kenwood KTC-SR902. Are you going to support this tuner or do you need to do tests on this tuner? If so let me know, I'm currently running this tuner on my Kenwood DDX-7015.

The KTC-SR902 doesn't support 1/5 the functionality as the new radios do. For example, it is impossible to see what's playing on other channels while listening to the channel you are on.Originally Posted by Keebortz
The two companies who have done support for the KTC-SR901/902/903 radios have dropped it from the market. Hell, I've even got a prototype control board in a box somewhere that'll just gather dust for the rest of my life. It's not even worth me digging it out.
