    ? about powered USB hubs

    I currently have a unpowered USB hub. When I plug in my optical drive to it there isnt enough juice to run it unless I plug in the adapter for the optical drive. If I used a powered USB hub would I still need that adapter?

    I borrowed a friends hub. Looks like if it is powered I dont need to power the drive.
