    Mini-ITX P4 boards

Wanting thoughts and oponions on these....

the extra processing power seems like it would be useful, but then there's the power consumption deal....

I like the idea since it's small and will fit where I have my computer right now...no way to fit a full size board, or even anything much bigger than the mini-itx stuff in my car...

    anyone?

i have one. running a p4 mobile chip in it. its 1.7 and runs at 1.2 only 30 watts off the 12v rail. i also have a full size hdd 200 gig and my 8 inch lilliput run off of it. its a nice board. im using an opus 150 to power it and so far so good. only one problem. i cant seem to get usb 2.0 drivers for it.

    I have an Insight P4 ITX with a celeron 2ghz. I'm using a Keypower and a CarPCEz. It's a little more $ but I love it.

i run a p4 mini itx that i bought at mp3car store. i have a normal 1.8 northwood, a full sized harddrive, and slimline cd drive. everything runs like a champ off my 150 watt opus.

i purchased the 870, becauses i wanted SATA. 330 bucks is alot, but i thought, if im going to do it, im going to do it right. and this way i can drop my 3.2 in there eventually. hehe.,

also i see 3 p4 mobos 850,850f,870...the only advantage the 870 has is a Tv-Out and celeron support? as the 850 and 850f has p4 support only and the 870 has 3.2ghz max instead of 3.06? any other major diff's?

I was wondering the same thing...because the 850 looks like it would fit the 2.2 chip I have here....now to find out how much juice it would take...probably have to switch to the opus....

I also like the fact that it does SATA....

would that mean potentially faster boot times with sucha chip/board/hd?

Are the P4 mini-itx motherboards that the MP3car.com store sells made by VIA or Insight (or is it both?)

I'm interested in doing the MB890 and getting a pentium-M chip to run with it. Where is the best place to find a pentium-m chip?

All I want is a bit more juice than my M10K gives me now. For example, I want to be able to run visualisations!!! So I think all I need is like a 1.4Ghz Pentium-M chip eh? How much is that going to cost me? The MP3car.com store doesn't sell the processors....
