Which notebook hard drive adapter are you using?

I am using the Samsung MP0402H and cannot get it to work. Have tried both style adapters below. Have tried with two of these drives, because the first was RMA'd.

Anyone with one of these Samsung drives and which adapter are you using? The first one gets installed letters up, right?

    Adapters suck.

I'm using the first adapter, and the letters face up, pending that's how the label on the drive is facing.

Have you been really carefull about pressing on the top of the drive? You can damage the drive if you press on the top too hard, and I killed one drive while trying to get the adapter on it, because I held the top and bottom, instead of the sides.

on the first one, the KEY pin is on the underside (opposite side to the letters). That should match the missing pin in your HD.

Also, the 4 pins by themselves (on the laptop drive) are not plugged into anything.

remember to plug power into the adapter also.

I noticed that the Samsung drive does not have any missing pins. Maybe that is my problem...
