Has anyone here found it neccesary to install a auxilary fuse block ?
I've got a decent amount of stuff, and rather than have 10 inline fuses i was thinking about just locating an auxilary fuse block in the trunk next to the tank battery.
Also, in your opinon would you find it neccesary to run an auxilary fuse block for these components;
A DC-DC psu (only 12v Rail) from jamesco 100watts
A DC-DC psu (only 5v Rail) from jamesco 100watts
A DC-DC psu from Opus the 150w
Alpine Amp - 400 watts max 50x4 rms
a power inverter 150 watt max, w/ surge protector and a bunch of little things plugged into it (external dvd/cd drive, external hard drive..)
A fuse box isn't necessary if you have inline fuses. Also, a "fuse box" (assuming you didn't mean the following) isn't necessary if you use one of these.Originally Posted by Dragonknell911
There are others (they are called "Fused Distribution Blocks") with more circuits/fuses to fit your needs.
Of course, always fuse your circuits with in 1 foot of the battery/power source.

I was thinking of replacing the inline fuses for conveinence, and the ability to at a glance check to make sure nothing is f'cked up.Originally Posted by Dragonknell911
edit: I know what a fused distro block is, im aware that running inline fuses and having a aux fuse block would be redundant, and you'd know that i know what they are too, had you looked at my post.
edit: i also forgot that i have an abahn amp rated at 1600 watts.
My problem with fused distro blocks is that i have so many different things i need fused.
My problem with a fusebox is that i have such a varying amount of amps (10a to 80ish amps) that i need to fuse. (i've never seen a blade fuse past 35ish amps)

In fact, what the hell is your question?
Has anyone EVER found it necessary to install and aux fused distro block?Heck no, the people here install them because it gives them a warm fuzzy feeling inside. And the manufacturers produce them because they are pretty.
I effing take the time to answer a question (my billing rate is undoubtadly much higher then yours) you posted, and bumped, with information and a link instead of telling you like I should have to, and you come back with attitude about knowing all of the things, and that I would have figured it out if I read your post. If you knew the answer, your post is moronic.
Tell me Einstein, what is your question?
