Question Which way to mount hard drives...

I read on one site that you should mount them horizontally because thats the way they are designed to function. I would think they would be more prone to a head crash this way though. Which is right?

i read somewhere that this guy had an mp3 player and it was a tower (vertical)), however it kept skipping, so he arranged it to be horizontal and it stopped the skipping!

I had a drive mounted vertically that skipped. Changing to horizontal stopped the skipping.
