so the true question is.. after the price drops a bit, will it be a worthy upgrade to someone using an m10000? every now and again i see hiccups in videos or gps usage, but nothing too serious, however something this small and AS capable and hopefully faster than an m10000 would be a really awesome upgrade i would think.

i look forward to seeing some installs with this thing, and hopefully some decent benchmarks comparing it to the m10000, though the sp13000 looks very enticing also.

Anyone know what the power consumption of the board is? Via doesn't seem to list it in their manual like they do for their other boards. I know the CPU max watts is around 7, but I'm wondering what the overall board is.

And how do ya power it?
It only has headers for extra USB ports i think but its feature packed and had a hardware mpeg decoder so the cpu is free for other things while a dvd plays.

Mine is running from a morex 80w psu and it's been going strong for AGES

If you do get one i'd reccomend you go for a higher up model to be safe like a MII 12000 or something like that

Mine is a fanless board so i don't have to worry about fans personally

For the size, power consumption and flexabilty it really is the best thing for a carpc it does what your pc does and doesn't need asmuch as yours does to power it.

It's a great tradeoff being able to do almost all the carpc things u need to do without being able to play 3D intensive games.

Speed should be fine... I play music with a 300a celeron cpu at about 20% load running a full install of winXP pro.

hey truckin, what kills mine though is GPS i think.... crappy destinator isnt really "streamlined" i think.... cpu goes up often and it gets jittery.... videos + gps is when it becomes noticeable... when the video isnt stuttering a clear dis-sync between auio and video can be noticed

It could be the codec your using i had a problem with a divx codec i used don't know why but it used up more bandwidth than it should so i removed it and installed a diff one and that fixed it.

Same goes for movies ripped with digital sound.

Although I wouldn't even think about getting one of these (speed, price, etc) I'm glad to see something like this finally come out. Will be really nice when they are cheaper and faster.
