carputer hangs on windows boot screen

hi guys,

i finally finished wiring my carputer, but when i boot it up it hangs on the windows boot screen. i'm using an m1-atx and i only have the mobo, hd, and lilliput connected to it.
at first i had it wired to my radio harness and thought that was causing it so i bought an amp power kit and it is now connected directly to the battery.

if i power the system in my house with a regular atx p/s it will work. it will even work if i connect the m1 to the atx p/s.

the only thing connected to the carputer is the monitor and headphone jack.

anyone else having a similar issue or know why it's hanging?

I think you've already pinpoointed your problem.

Sounds like you have a power issue.
Is the car running or not during your test in the car?

i tried it with the car running and the car off.

Email the guys that make the PS and ask them what to check next.

Power your PC without the Lilliput hook up to the DC PSU.
Power the Lilliput with the wall/extension cord to see if the PC boot to windows.

i'm an idiot, i should have thought of doing that before. i just thought that it would not have been a problem. i will test it when i get home.

if it works without powering the lilli.. where can i power the lilli off of?

If you still have the "EGG", power it off the egg. I still use the egg althought my PSU have enought juice to run couple more Lilliput, but I still use the egg.
If you already junk it, order a 12V POL from Carnetix or Opus. I "think" someone did build their own 12V supply for the Lilliput..... that was long ago.

some computers won't boot without a keyboard attached.... drove me nuts once..... worked fine in the house but not in the car.... the difference was the keyboard... hope this helps....
