I bought a 3.5 to 2.5 converter (standard to laptop har ddrive converter),
I wanted to copy files to it using my external enclosure for my 3.5" drive, it's won't spin up or anything, I checked the 5v line and it's good.
anyone? is it just not compatable?

Most of the 2.5 to 3.5 adaptors will plug into the lappy hard drive either way. Did you check the thing and make sure pin 1 is correct?

Yes, that is a good advice cus in HD if you connect the IDE cable backwards it won't turn on.
