    NAND Flash Memory

I just saw this story on PC World about Intel showing off new memory technology called Robson. They use NAND Flash memory to allow for almost instant on for boot and much faster software load. It sounded like another company that used Non-Volatile memory as the hard drive on a laptop. This allowed the laptop to boot directly back to where it was before it was turned off. I post this here because the use of this type of memory would allow for the ultimate Car PC. It would be almost instant on, return to the previous state like sleep mode when powered on, low power consumption and does not need power to hold state.

I could not find the link for the compnay that made the laptop, but here is the link for the intel stuff.

sounds interesting... i wonder if it would be compatible with current hardware, like an IDE adapter thing maybe?
