My computer will shut down and not start back up if i have more than 2 of my current USB components plugged in. I am running 3: GPS receiver, xenarc TS, and external sound card. I beleive the problem to be in the powering of all three, so my question is:
my epia M10000 MB has 1.2 USB and i want/need top use this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817801001
but its a 2.0 USB. will this be a problem? any way to update/upgrade the USB on the MB to 2.0? what will happen if i try to run use it?

Re read your mobo's doc.
There's NO usb1.2 standard . Only 1.0 (outdated), 1.1 (current low speed standard, roughly 1.5mbyte/s), and USB2.0 aka USB-HighSpeed (60 MByte/s)
Your motherboard ALREADY HAS USB2.0 Highspeed and is backward compatible with 1.1/1.0 peripherals too, so that hub will work.
Makes sure you use the right drivers, that's all.
