Thread: Pyle TV7 RGB Connnector

Gonna need to see a picture of the connector, no clue what it is. Looking over the manual, it didnt provide a whole lot of info either. Have you called Pyle?

It's a round 8 or 9 pin DIN connector. I called Pyle and reached support (surprise!), however they have no idea! They told me the screen resolution is 1200x234, and I'm hoping that it's enough for a good computer display.

I'm not sure who Mark Dumas is? I live in Iowa. Also, thanks for your reply too! You can imagine how frustrating this is for me. I don't want to install it in-dash, only to find out the display doesn't work.

<I also learned that the "brake" wire needs to be grounded for the Video display to work>

Weird resolution. VERY weird. Its going to be very long and narrow. Chances of getting the proper connector are gonna be slim. Maybe someone has seen this before? Looks like the old Amiga connector i guess.

It doesnt look like that screen can do VGA resolution. I'd question if the unit is worth the headache. (I'd return it and look into a true touchscreen)

I think I found the cable I was looking for! I ordered it and I'm hoping it works. I'm posting this so others that have that same Pyle TV7 monitor can locate the cable for it easier that I did. I'll post next week if it works or not; and what display resolution modes that are usable with this monitor.

its marketing. it's really a 400x234 screen, capable of displaying RCA (composite) video, but that's it. They count each Red, Green, Blue pixel as one each, making 400 into 1200. nice eh

I wonder if my computer will go crazy (assuming cable works) and provide no resolution modes when I plug it in to the RGB connector. I may have bought an expensive paper weight and end up getting a Xerarcs monitor.

1200x234 is technically the resolution but the REAL resolution is probably 400x234

Not sufficient for a computer
Bad idea

I wonder if the TV output on the SP13000 motherboard would work? I just want to run MCE2005 for playing music and videos.
