Caught this on newegg and thought I'd pass this on to everyone. This is a killer deal for a laptop dvd burner.

    Thumbs down

lol that piece of crap does -R and -RW only. It isn't even dual format, nor does it burn dual layer discs. If you want to pay 70 dollars for 2 year old technology be my guest. Enjoy that 90 day warranty too.

I agree with everything except the warranty. The unit you mentioned is OEM which unless otherwise stated, I would assume a 90 day warranty as well.

Never, nor will I need to for a while. But to be honest not having a burner that does AT LEAST dual format is an absolute waste of money IMO. Goto any Circuit City or Best Buy or Office Max or Office Depot or Fry's or HH Greg or any other major retailer and tell me if any of them still carry - format only burners. If you find one you'll have to knock 38 lbs. of dust off of it. The + format clearly took over the market, and that is why you can buy that old-*** slot load for only 70 bucks. Or if your buddy says here lets watch my movie, you can't even play a damn +R or +RW, that is incredibly weak.

Why buy something that is 2 years obsolete before you even install it? You might as well spend 10 dollars to have something that will burn damn near everything you throw in it for the next 2 years. Your drive is going the wrong direction.
