    Components from home PC?

had a quick search and cant find a decent list of the components that can be used in a carputer, that have been taken straight from a home PC. I am trying to keep costs low, and as we have 2 computers lieing around, one 2 years old and the other 5 years old id very much like to try and get as much stuff from them as possible.

What components could i take out of them to be used in my carputer? power wil obviously big the biggest problem(powering components and cooling) but i am really trying to keep costs down to reasonable amount, and as i have them lieing around, might aswell try and get some use out of them.

    Thanks.

read closer, everything can be used.
I have found you an argument; I am not obliged to find you an understanding.

    use it all

    I did.

if your car has the space, why pay extra for a smaller board etc.

if its amd do the amd to amd mobile mod to save power.

maybe change hd for a laptop drive (slow!) or find a low power fullsize drive.

Such a list would go on forever
    ANYTHING *can* be used
its all about optimizing the system for YOU

If you want your home pc in your car, buy a huge inverter or a few dc/dc power supplies and hook it up.
