Why file system are you using?
Two days ago, I turn on my ignition, carPC boots up as usual (well not quite as usual - it should have resumed from hibernate, but did a full restart). But before it managed to start windows, the dang thing reboots itself. And has been ever since.
So I plug the ol' keyboard in and launch into safe mode command prompt. Stops at MUP.SYS. Check mp3car, and the good thing is I'm certainly not alone. The bad thing is that my symptoms could be pointing to any one of:
* Bad memory
* Corrupt hard disk
* Bad power
* Just about anything else
So I guess I just start changing things. I think the first will be to get rid of the OPUS and put a M1-ATX in its place. My VIA MII12K doesn't draw nearly enough power to strain the OPUS (The 5A fuse is still intact, so at 12V its not even drawing 60W), but over the past couple of weeks the OPUS has been doing some strange things, like rebooting the PC out of the blue, or not starting up or shutting down properly. And I'm fairly certain there are no spikes in the power, since I'm running off a second battery protected by an electronic isolator.
I'm open to any other advice, and I'll post any results as I find them..

I'd say not enough power.
Have you added anything recently?
Coz I've had that on a system, tried it on a bigger PSU and it worked fine.
To be honest, its been that long since I've set it up, I've forgotten. Either FAT32 or NTFSOriginally Posted by 0l33l
I haven't taken the hard drive out to yet - that'll have to wait until the weekend.
Power is #1 on my list, which is why I'm ditching the OPUS for a M1-ATX. But I haven't added anything since installing the system. Here is what I'm running:Originally Posted by Enforcer

As I mentioned though, my OPUS has been doing some strange things anyway, so there could be something wrong with it..
Also check your battery.
Could be on the way out.

OK, scrub that, but check the connections.
yeah, measure the voltage drops across conenctions.
question though, what frontend were you using? because I just had the same exact problem and i'm not entirely sure it's a hardware issue.
