what model is it?
Hi All,
Hooked up the tv tuner this arvo and am getting a loud hum through the stereo. Thinkin it was a ground loop I took the 12v+ and gnd supply to the tuner straight from the amplifier screw terminals, and used h/q RCA leads, still no difference. As soon as I remove the aerial from the tuner (which is completely isolated from the car) the hum goes away.
It is a digitial tv tuner, and as I select different stations the frequency of the hum seems to change, as if the actual decoder is making the noise.
Any recommendations for reducing this noise?
I tried grounding the outer part of the aerial connector, but no difference (except for a pop when i put the wire on and off the connector)
Any ideas are welcome
Cheers,
Tim.
what model is it?
Lez, more widely known as flez1966
It's a DVT-B tuner from www.jaycar.com.au..
Only $199 but it works fine when plugged into my home tv..
not any noise until I plug the aerial in.. someone mentioned something about an aerial isolator, but the aerial is already pretty isolated.. i.e the aerial comes out the back of the unit then straigh through the aerial cable to the actual aerial on the boot lid..
I'm even running from mains (inverter) still has the noise.
Cheers for all your help,
Tim.
