Nifty USB --> IDE Interface

i know these have been around forever with the external hard drives and dvd burners, but is an interesting thought to use one with a carpc, would be quite useful for setting up an extra hard drive or a dvd player that can fit in the dash :P

i did a search to see if anyone has tried em out and no luck, if you have please post your results

lol honest to god i searched "usb ide" and come up with some random hard drive problem threads. now i look at "similar threads" and see em .. ah well no harm done :P

BTW I have one of those from tigerdirect for $5 (I use it daily *don't mess with the cable or open it and put more silicone on it*)

In that case

I don't know about all of them, but some come with an extra, small IDE cable. That's usefull because, for example, I didn't have room in the dash, behind the DVD for that unit. But with that extra cable, it has enough room.
