did you check your bios for the type of screen as I suggested before? leave it set on CRT, not LCD and see if it works.
Hi all, again hehe... Well first of all, the screen aint even connected whit the usb, only the vga.. so it has nothing to do about the usb bus...
Second of all, i have made a small movie, about 4 minutes long, you can stream/download it here:
http://www.sympotonic.net/carpcblackout.avi
At the video, i first show, i have 2 systems, my home computer, and my carpc, and the carpc, monitor, and case, have a powersupply at there own.. then i try to boot up the machine, and you can se at the blue LED/light, that its get a peak, and shutdown imidaly!!!
Then i try to take the monitor off, and the carpc turns on right... then i do it again, and same isue.. then i turn on the carpc, and try to connected the monitor after that, and the cpu/system shutsdown again...
After that, you can see i test my carpc, at my home 17" screen, and its works... then i test the 7" touchscreen, whit my home pc, and thats work allso.. then to the final, i try to connect the 7" touchscreen again, whit my carpc, and its shutsdown again.. those 2 things, cannot work togheter, but works on my homepc.. but why???
BG Tommy Christiansen, hope you can help some more now...

maybe the vga cable has a short in it with something. i dunno what to tell you. plug the touchscreen monitor into your desktop along with the usb and see if its working good. by the way...HOW ARE YOU POWERING THE PC AND HOW ARE YOU POWERIN THE SCREEN?
i got dat ***** sittin on 22s! SUPERMAN EDITION!
When i bought the PC, there was a 230V AC - 12 DC adapter whit... and allso when i bought the Monitor, there was a 230V AC - 12 DC Adapter whit... and thats how im powering it.... THEY HAVE THERE OWN POWER SUPPLY...... NOT ONE POWER SUPPLY TO BOTH!!!

im still convinced its related to the motherboard cap issues. Mine just did a constant reboot.....check the top of all the large caps near the psu for buldging, or burn marks
PC Components:
Lilliput; XPC/FLEX mobo; 1.7 ghz P4 Mobile;512 DDR; 160 gb HDD; opus 150; slot usb dvd-rw

I also had a similar issue one time with a mobo....where it wouldnt boot if the keyboard was plugged in.....tried different keyboards. This happened from the powersupply killing the mobo. ****in cheap powersupplys.

I place my bet on the monitor/cable being the culprit. It seems to crap out too quickly for it to be a BIOS issue. I think the monitor is shorting out the computer some how. Maybe some one here knows if all 9 pins are used on the video adapter? If all 9 pins are used for both monitors, then I would definitely say it has something to do with the monitor/cable.
I also like the hand gestures lol, you seem so frustrated.
