its usually due to how its grounded. i have seen where people say use a ground loop to solve this issue. i'm not sure about it really. you could try searching for ground loop maybe. sorry if this doesn't help.
Hooked up my XMD to my Computer today and I get sound but it's got a little interference and engine whine. Anyone else have similar problem and/or a fix?? Computer is in my sig, thanks.

How is the XMD connected to your computer? Line in? I know whenever I listen to my XM PCR I get a little noise in the background, but I get the same noise whenever the line in is unmuted.
If the XMD is connected to your line in port, then unplug it and unmute line in to see if you still get the noise. Plug the XMD back in and see if the noise comes back into the system.
A related comment: Most all line-in or mic quarter-inch ports are pretty crappy. The higher end sound cards cut down on excess electrical 'noise'. If you are going in through your sound card on the computer, do some research on your sound card. You may need an upgrade.Originally Posted by XxAndyxX
Anyone have the serial-usb driver for PCR?
Bought one off ebay but the install CD is bent.
