external usb has 'bandwidth', and some cards/chipsets use more cpu than others.
Yu could always go the build a bass box with the MB in the bottom etc,
Pros:
smaller overall footprint.
amps/speakers/souncard all near so less cable
run a usb2 to front for dvdrom+mouse+keyboard
Cons:
once its in the box it means having to move a heavy box indoors for any maintenance

I am looking at either the Travla C137 or the Travla C150
The C137 has 2 pci slots and a CF slot. I like the VIA EPIA MII and that has a PCMCIA slot for a wifi card. So its down to should I be looking at USB or PCI cards for soundcards & satnav. Since there is no viable FM solution yet I think I will have to wait to see what becomes comercially availble before making my case decision. I guess another question is how does a USB soundblaster box compare with a pci card?
