hi everyone, i've post here a few times, but now im ready to install my car comp. just have a few probs. any input from people would be great ??
heres a couple of pics of the car and the equipment going in..... enjoy :O)

heres the screen, cheap and a awesome picture first prob as you will see from the picture is that the screen can not be pushed into the din slot fully as the screen will hit the center consol. the other prob is...... im using a laptop for the computer, how are people mounting the laptop?? any input would be great

Hi Dene Very nice car BTW one day i will have one, as for your problem with fitment of your screen i would get a secondhand console and modify it so your unit flush mounts rather than being inset. cut it out bring forward and fibreglass it in flush then fill and spray to match your dash. Is your laptop going to be permanently in the car or is it a multi purpose. if it's multipurpose
i would try and get a docking station if it is permanent i would make a housing from mdf and mount it under a seat of in the boot.HTH

Right then if it is boot mounted and ya worried about the shocks, don't be as laptops are designed to take a fair bit of abuse anyway. But to be sure i would make your laptop mount with a suspension of its own, just some sort of rubber will do and it will act like a bush and absorb some of the shock. so once bolted in the boot you can still move it a few mm's ya know. i did this on CD changer in my old 3 door running koni adjustables on 17s. stopped it skipping a treat. i have got similar mounts on my PC in my boot build just a couple of 1 inch squares of a rubber car mat put together a hole through em and sandwich them between the car and your mount. my PC with 3.5in hard drive been running for 18 months no problems. regards Steve
