5-pin infared reciever for via epia m10k

Well does anyone one know where to pickup a 5pin infaredr reciever for use with the via epia m10000. I searched on google came up with instructions for building. I am no electronics genius so i can't build one. Just a simple already built 5pin reciever I can purchase and plugin to the header. I know some of you will probably tell me to use irman or some serial-usb solution but I just would like to use the internal header if you can provide any words of wisdom please. If ya want to flame me then Call me johnny flame and "Flame on". Links i hit http://www.mini-itx.com/hardware/ima...ware0045aL.gif this says epia 800. I seen a lot of references regarding unix, mythtv and sagetv. I am using xp though.

    30 dollars plus shipping

This is something I've wanted to know more about for a long time. It's true that almost every motherboard out there includes an IrDA header, and that they seem to be impossible to find. It doesn't make sense to me either.

But there are thousands of USB, serial, or printer port IrDA devices available for less than the product above. If you find a schematic you want, you can probably get somebody to build and ship it to you for 15 bucks. They are really simple, toughest part would be making it look OEM.

Although that connects to the serial headers.
From talking in the IRC channel, I know he wants something to connect to the FIR headers on the motherboard.

    A good solution, nonetheless.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

hmm i found this one from gigabyte http://www.tadara.com.au/items-id=3499.htm I am going to check its pinouts or find a white paper on it somewhere(google) I am still waiting on via reply to the email I sent from the via arena forum. For future reference to anyonel else electronically inclined unlike myself. The Epia m10k Fir pinouts pg 2-13 is 1 vcc: 2 irrx1: 3 irrx: 4 gnd: 5 irrtx I found a few but their pinouts did not match this so I figure those are older recievers. the ones I seen dont have irrx1. Hey but thanks rawsonDR for the information but darque is right I am looking for a fir device (fast infared data module)

    Subject: VIA Mainboards epia m10000k

    Hello my name is Burkett.
I was interested in finding a third party vendor for a compatible 5-pin (fir)
fast infared module for my epia m10000 nehemiah, no lvds connector. The board
is a version 1.0. Any help with this would be helpful. Please send any
    information to bcwilliams@west.com
Also I was wondering if there have been any advancements into making the video
drivers output and display at 800x480 on the mini-itx epia m10000 motherboard.
I am located in the U.S.A

    Thank you for your time.
    Burkett Williams
