For 18$ inc delivery I can supply some of the parts to the mk2.5 psu on my site
http://sproggy.mp3car.com
Parts included:
1 etched fibreglass, tinned and drilled PCB
2 MBR745 diodes
1 MBR340 diode
1 MUR120 diode
1 SA28A diode
1 1n5819 diode
2 1n4002 diodes
This leaves you get the free sample parts and the other remaining parts which should be available from any good electronic supplier
I have designed and built an ATX DC-DC PSU that is fully ATX 2.0 compliant, including auto-shutdown (no serial port needed!). It features an integrated microcontroller for "brains". It draws around 2.6A from the car while powering a Celeron 400 and hard disk running Win98.
I have successfully built 2 prototypes based on my new design, and I just shipped a prototype to a customer yesterday for use in a marine application using GPS and DVD video on boats.
The cost will be around $100 for ATX, $75 for AT and I should be able to take orders in a couple of weeks once the etched boards come back from the PCB fab company.
Check my website in a few days for more information.

thanks for the replies. I have One of the Astec supplies but I fried it some way or another...who knows....
jjohnson...would you be willing to sell one of the supplies without the auto shutdown unit (AT)? and if so how much?
Thanks
www.arisecomputers.com is also selling AT suplies at reasonable price.
pardon my ignorance. i am interested in using the astec laptop power supply for my (yet unbuilt) car pc which will be using a p-120mhz,
AT motherboard,
lcd with isa controller,
2.1gb hd,
soundblaster compatible pci sound card
will the astec laptop power supply support my setup? has anyone tried a similar or more powerful setup?
one more very simple question, where can i find the cigerette lighter plug which will be connected to the power supply?
thanks, for any info!!
