    Anybody used an external hard drive?

    I'm looking to use one or more in my car and am wondering how power works with these. You must power it with a DC source, but you are not supposed to just disconnect the power when you shut it down. Do you leave it on until it "sleeps"? Does the power supply shut it down the same way it does the computer?

    Guess I'll just have to find out with a tester how much power it uses when I turn the computer off...
