I'm kind of doubting the Opus 150 is going to power your setup. Use a power calculator to see how much your setup will use.
OK this is gonna be my first build. IT's going into and nissan altima 03-06(still not sure which year ill gonan get yet).
The pc includes
msi micto-atx motherboard
amd 64 mobile 3700+
512-1024 corsair 3200 ram
250g SATA seagate 3.5 harddrive
audigy 2 zs
ubs/firewire pci card
serial pci card
motherboard has onboard video but i could get any PCIx16 card
i think opus 150 will power it all but im not quite sure yet. i want to avoid inverter at all costs.
here is a general diagram of what the setup will look like please any and all insight is greatly welcome.
Not even close.
The Opus provides 60w on the 12v rail (12v X 5A = 60w). The CPU itself consumes over 80w.
If you meant the 2700+ w/ 1mb L2 cache, it consumes even more (89w). The version w/ 512mb L2 cache only consumes 35w, however. That may very well work with an Opus 150. But you're making a performance sacrifice in that case.
what processor do you guys recammend for mp3/gps/divx/some lite gameing (not like fear)
and jsut to clarify i did mean 3700 ( and to think i almost choose the 4000)
but i can now see that it wil be too much
also for the screen would you hook put a fuse in the power line?
I'd probably get a 2100 Mobile. Even that is more than plenty for mp3/gps and divx all at the same time. Depending on your video card you'd be able to play any game you want with that.Originally Posted by Evilbunny1114
I'm powering my screen from tapping into the acc line (the one that goes to my cig lighter). That way my screen turns off when the car turns off. I would read up on powering your lcd before you do anything. There are plenty of posts on this in the lcd forum.
brad i see u choose the xp 2600. how much room u got to spare with the setup you have?
i'v been lookign at this mobo/cpu combo and i seem pretty good, i just dont kno where to find the wattage of the processor and motherboard iv searched google and cant find it on the amd or pc chips site so i was wondering if someone could tell me the wattage if they kno it or point to to where i could find it.
i may jsut end up going with the MII1200 via
