firewire to slim dvd bridge board

does anyone know where i could by a firewire board that would bridge to a slim laptop type dvd drive like the one on this page (FU-SlimA)?

I had to buy a 44-pin slimslot adapter from phaelan, then went to fry's and got a 44->40pin (cuz the 40pin slimslot adapter stuck 4inches out!), then got a firewire bridge at a swap for $60...Works flawlessly, even playing DVD movies!

Problem is, it plays great on the monitor but the TV signal gets killed. Anyone know why?

I'm looking for the same thing, don't want no enclosure, just the bridge.

But it's only standard ide. I'm using several of these in desktop pc's with great success - allows a removable drive rack to be made hot-swappable.
