I dont see a point in doing that. You wont be able to see almost anything...
Maybe that's why nobody has done it.. if you do, post pics though.. lol

Hi all,
Just looking for ideas basically. Has anyone done a SINGLE din-sized PC, probably using an ITX board, ever?
I am thinking whether it is actually achievable.
Thanks.

Sorry I forgot to add... single DIN, for the PC itself, not the monitor!
The advantage is of using DIN instead of custom-mount, is obviously easily transferable to another car.
oo that sounds more reasonable.. hehe
but um.. I dunno about that, you can try some new hot swap solution for more than one car... I (will) have my pc in my glove box so I dont plan on taking it out

Yes it has been done before. I plan on fabricating my own case and doing it myself.
Edit:
If you have the space (depth in the dash) you could use this case: http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...products_id=78
Remember AllAdvantage From 7 years ago? IT IS BACK! Now under a new name Agloco
GET PAID TO SURF THE INTERNET
WHOOOOAA!
That is EXACTLY what I am looking for!
It will save a lot of time hacking a car stereo and making a custom fascia.
Even though it is quite expensive (about 100 pounds), I'll probably give it a go!
Thanks.
Does the case have room for a HDD? And a CD at the same time, or is it an either or sort of thing?
Oh nevermind, it says right on it that there is room for both. It seems a nice little case...Even if you weren't going to put it in the Dash. Unfortunately it seems that the graphics ability of the via boards is really bad and the new 3d mapping technology probably won't work so well on them, but I don't know personally.
Nah the new SP13000 is pretty good I heard, the 3D acceleration is much improved, and now it has hardware MPEG4 acceleration too.
And surprisingly the SP13000 is compatible with C134! Or so Mini-ITX.com says.
I see a reasonably obvious shortcoming of this design, good as it is.
The USB ports are on the front side, so instead of being able to tuck away any USB hubs/cables in the dash, the cables will be in plane sight.
If they had 1 front port, for a memstick (easy file transfer) at the front and 1 or 2 at the back , for hubs/GPS/etcetera, so u could tuck them out of sight it would be perfect, or at least as perfect as any ITX solution can be.
No, the front has EXTRA USB ports, you are still able to access all the USB ports that are directly on your motherboard. I dont care if this thread is a million years old, READ the spec sheets dont just look at pictures!
