    slot load vdv drive cable?

    i want to mount my carputer in the back of my truck, but have a slot load cd/dvd up in the front. i searched but coudnt find how you guys are doing this.

    i need info on an extension ide/power cable.

    You can extend a molex connector from your power supply to supply power.

    This, this and a long USB cable.
    IDE specifications are shorter than the length you need.

    You can also get a slim USB enclosure and a long USB cable, as well.

    But all of these still require power at that unit, correct?

    Does anyone know of an external, self-powered slot loading dvd-rw drive? I know this sounds outrageous, but I have found 1 online. Also does anyone know of a self-powerd, slot loading just dvd drive? I need one to mount within my dash and I don't want to have to extend some sort of power from my trunk to my dash.
