My setup so far, comments appreciated

Alright well so far with all my research I have narrowed it down to some parts.

I was going to build my own case later on down the road.

VIA EPIA MII10000. I chose this mother board because of the Pc card expansion slots. I could put a wireless network adapter in there like one that would be on a laptop. The cheapest price i managed to find was 176 before shipping.

512mb DDR. I haven't looked into this much, i'm sure i could find a good stick for around 40-50 bux.

Hard drive. I'd like a 7200rpm around 60-80gig. I was wondering if the IDE cables to connect the HD are the same as regular size desktop pcs?

Monitor - I haven't decided on yet, i'll worry about it when the time comes.

Power Supply - I have no idea what a good power supply is. Any recomendations would be great

Another question I have is how would i power the computer/power supply? A power inverter? what are my choices of powering a Carputer?

Amplifier is a Alpine MRP-f240 its specs are:
360 watt 4, 3, or 2 channel car amplifier
360 Watts max output
50 x 4 watts RMS at 2 ohms

The car this is going into is a 2003 Acura RSX type-s. It has the Bose system, I'm hopin that amp would keep the sound quality how it was or maybe better? Its a 150 shipped on ebay.

for a RSX a 7" t/s can be molded easily
the 2.5" hdds require an adapter, $12
as for PSU, being a VIA mobo its real easy, lots of options. the m1-atx is good
for sound quality you'll need a usb sound card or use your expansion slot

ah i see what do you think i should get as a sound card for the pci slot? does everything else look good? as the amp?

as far as the amp...
most speakers are 4 ohms so you'll only get 25w x 4 rms, which is better than any head unit

LeythDC5 - We are in the exact same boat. I'm starting my RSX-S project as well. If you haven't already, check out n7plus1's RSX. Also, I've started a Worklog on mine, and you should do the same - I'm sure we'll be able to help each other out down the road.

sweet man i just ordered 4 parts last night and i plan to order some more this week. I need to find a cover thingy for the xenarc 700xts. I saw n7plus1 made a beautiful one. tehre was also a guy on clubrsx that made an amazing one.
