CF vs Harddrive Transfer Rate (Boot Time)

Does anyone have any actual figures on the transfer rate of Hard Drives vs CF?

The only tables i can find are the HD internal transfer rate (which can be as high as 700mb/sec) but it obviously cannot transfer at that rate to the mobo.

So basically.. what is the standard tranfser rate of a harddrive, and what is a standard transfer rate of a CF card?

And does the CF card's faster transfer rate improve boot time significantly?

    came up blank.

the max transfer rate you'll get from a very fast CF card is going to be around 15-18MB/s, but it kinda evens out because flash has no (or minimal) seek and spin up time whereas a HDD does.
