The A-Open mini PC will fit in a single DIN. It is far faster and cheaper then the nano ITX. You also can fit a CD drive + the mini PC in the single DIN. With the nano ITX I used, the standard heat sink it comes with was too high to do this.
Well it looks like they are finally ready.
last year i wanted one to put in my dash but now i am not so sure anymore.
The only reason i can see using this is to put it in my dash but other that that why would i use it??
has anyone made an indash 1 din case yet?? and not the full 7x7x2 cause that doesnt fit in most cars. It sould really be 7x2x 5or 6 to be able to fit in the dash with enough space for cables.

So what good is this thing??
hrmmm - could be that these things are designed for more than just CarPC use?

ok sorry useless for the car
It's not useless just because you can't fit it in the dash with a cd drive. They are great and really f'in tiny. You can stuff 'em almost anywhere. In fact, the only time I could considered them useless is if you want to cram them in the dash with a cd drive using the standard heatsink.
ok you bring up a good point you can put them almost anywhere. but for the
extra 270.00 to save 2 inches it is a hard sell to me at the moment
I just found this case that actually looks quite nice
