Removing Slot drive from AOPEN, Need cable

    Hey all,

I am going to remove my slot drive from the aopen pandora so I can mount it elsewhere. Any idea what that connector is called, and if they make an extension cable for it?

I would hate to hack it all up, but it may come to that if I cant find the cable

    Thanks!
    B

The hard drive is IDE and shares the same IDE channel as the optical drive which could cause performance problems when burning CD/DVD’s.

It's a slim-to-IDE adapter. They sell a more streamlined model in the store here. I believe the connector is a JAE-50. Couldn't tell you about an extension cable for it.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I never had an issue burring a cd on the minipc. Crazyone i think you better off making the optical driving USB insted of trying to extend it. How long are you trying to extend it?

Just to outside teh case really, the PC is RIGHT behind my dash, and the problem I have it that teh slot drive requires the disc to really be all but 1/2 in there before it grabs. I had originally planned on just mounting it right behind teh lcd at teh top and make a slot to it.

Id hate to have to buy another slot drive and now use this one at all.
