People, please don't dog him out.
Is it possible to have an optical drive near the dash of a car and the case with the rest of the components in the trunk, or under a seat? I know those IDE cables are pretty short. Do they have "extenders" or something to that effect, or does the drive pretty much have to be either in or real near the case?

ok. i now see the mp3car store has some adapters. thanks for the quick replies.
the adapters arent the only problem.. the distance of the usb cables plays a BIG role in the drives usefulness. I've been learning this the hard way with my slot load drive.

care to elaborate?
im running a 10ft usb cable from the trunk to the center console
that cable connects to a usb 7port hub which my slot drive is connected.
dont you need the hub powered you'll ask, and it is.
that hub is powered by a stereo mini plug soldered to speaker wire and the pc's 5v wire is tapped so the hub is powered and only powered when the pc is on simple easy to do works no problem.
