Plug & Play carPC removal from car.....

Guys is there anything out there that can make me remove my carPC from mycar quickly. I have the carnetix 1260 with a Travla 134case, i have the Travla C134 Case Power Cable Kit from mike[carnetix] http://www.carnetix.com/optional_cables.htm

Everytime i want to remove my carPC i have to open the case disconnect the PSU cable as well as the MB jumpers.....is there something that acts like a splitter for the 2, where i would just re\disconnect the 2 cables outside the case?

any ideas???

Here's a picture of what I did. I added a 4-pin molex (only used 3 pins) in between the P1260 and the C134 so that I could quickly unplug the C134 to remove it from the car. The molex carries the +battery, Gnd, and ACPI (power button) fromt he P1260. Works for me!

but how about the MB jumpers, Im using a M1000....

So you remove the jumpers everytime u have to take out ur carPC?

Which jumpers? I run the ACPI header pin(s) out to the P1260 via the Molex (sorry, edited my previous post which said "ingnition". I meant to say ACPI). The ACPI connection actually goes first to a rear-panel-mounted 1/8" stereo connector, then (with a larger wire) out of the C134 case to the molex. This lets me use an external push-button power switch via the stereo connector to start/stip the C134 when I take the unit indoors.

Does this make sense?

Ok that clears up the ingnition\ACPI. Yes have the ACPI(green\black wires) coming out of the 1260 goin into my MB, I will try it your way....but im confused on this part

I searched Radioshack for this 1/8" Audio Connector and didnt find anything...where did u get urs from? The thing that is confusing me is that where am i gettin the external push-button power switch from? is that on the back rear panel too[1/8" Audio Connector ]

I understand how it all works, attach the jumpers to the MB - the other end of the jumper wire[green\back] goes to the 1/8" Audio Connector, attach a new wire to the 1/8" Audio Connector which goes to the new molex plug

Sure, as long as you have both ends (mates). However, you'd be better off buying new connectors (with pins) at RS.

thankyou mike...i think i got it now.

And im assuming i have to make that 1/8 stereo jack plug with the push button attached, and then plug that into the 1/8 phone jack on the rear?

Anyspecial things i should know on making that pushbutton cable?
