Yes, just don't use ECC Registered ram. I'd only use such nice ram if you already have it. The m10k won't be able to take advantage of it.

    This is really driving me
    Here's what I got: Kingston
    Search Results for: KVR400X64C3A/512
    Description: 512MB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC CL3 (3-3-3) DIMM
    Detailed Specifications: Standard 64M X 64 Non-ECC 400MHz 184-pin Unbuffered DIMM (SDRAM-DDR, 2.6V, CL3, Gold)

When I boot up I get 1 long beep and it repeats..If I reset the bios on the MoBo I can get into the Bios.
Once I do any changes and reboot noting but BEEEP

I created a bootable disk (CD) and downloaded on Via website there flash utility AWFL823B.EXE and the BIOS file.
Keep in mind that the only way for me to do anything, I have to reset the bios and unplug the the power and wait a few minutes otherwise I can't do anything and all I hear is that one long beep.

I boot up and got DOS type the cmd.: AWFL823B BIOS.BIN
    And nothing...
As if there's nothing on the CD. Take the cd out, pop in my PC...it there!!! WTF am I doing wrong????

FYI: The MoBo is used and purchased from a user here....

I would just go buy a stick of RAM with the right speed. Putting RAM in with a faster rating will actually slow down other parts of the system, espically he CPU because it can't keep up with the memory. 512 266 is perfect for that board

I know this is a little late, but it is still relivant.

Just some notes about your memory. The beep means the memory is not registering properly. If you flashed the BIOS and you were able to boot with that memory then the memory IS compatible. It sounds like the VIA has some settings in the bios for auto detecting the memory speed or something similar. I don't have the board you are commenting about yet otherwise I would go in and check the bios for the settings you should need.

You could try using the Fail Safe settings. If it works then, simply play with the memory multiplier or underclock the memory.
