I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work.
Has anyone ever adapted Mitch's Sirius adapter to get power off of a molex connector from the PC power supply? I'm an electrical idiot, as I've said many times before, but it seems like there's a little overlap between the two... For those who don't recall, Mitch's requires:
Yellow - Constant 12V
Red - Acc 12V
Black - Ground
Molex is apparently 2 ground (black), one 12V (yellow) and one 5V (red)
I wouldn't care about the switched 12V if the power was coming from my computer because I'd want them both on at the same time, so the computer, which is already switched would act as the switch? I'm using a DSATX psu, btw.
Could I just take the three wires running off of Mitch's adapter and make them into a male molex connector (yellow, red, black - splice the black to give me 2 grounds)? Then I'd take one of the female molex connectors from the PSU and splice the lines so instead of the 5V red I split the yellow to give me 2 12Vs?
Does this make any sense? Maybe this picture will provide some more confusion:
