Full sized DVD in HP E-PC?

I have most of an hp e-pc (working on a power supply now).
It uses a regular Teac Notebook CD Drive. Is there any kind of adapter I can buy to let me use a full size (5.25") DVD drive on it. The cable for the HDD is a normal IDE, but the cable for the notebook cd is much smaller. Any advice? Thanks.

If you have a regular IDE connector for the HDD, can't you just put the 5.25" DVD drive on that IDE channel? Or do you have two IDE devices already on that channel?

you could use a slimline dvd sold in the mp3car store

    whatcha gonna do for power?

I'm currently using an inverter with my E-PC, but would like to go dc-dc for a less power hungry system

DOH! I did not think of that! I only have one IDE drive. I guess there is no reason I can not just swap cables and use it that way. Thanks!

Well there are two E-PCs that I know of with external power supplies. One just uses a regular 12v to 19v notebook adapter in the car. The other needs both 12v and 19v fed in to it.

Yeah I've got the latter. I was thinking of making my own psu using a 19v and a 12v supply then using a time delay relay to provide the power ok signal.

I'm just not sure if the power savings will be worth the effort.
My only goal is to increase my run time on my second battery.

See I was wondering if that PGOOD wire was even needed. If so, I have no idea how to hook that up.

Ok, my setup has the E-PC PSU feeding the PC via a cheap terminal strip.
I did this to figure out how much current each of the supplies was providing.
I made these measurements this morning, and also looked at the power good signal.

    I found the following, peak load conditions;

    19v supply 1.3 Amps
    12v supply 4.2 Amps

Power Good 3.3volts immediately when swithcing on the PSU.
It appears to be generated by the PC not the PSU.
And now for the good news
THE PC RUNS WITH IT DISCONNECTED, IT CAN BE IGNORED
