Two separate questions here.

1)
I've noticed that there are 2 different kinds of touch screen available, resistive and glass. Which is considered better for use in the car? Temperature might be a factor, so i guess I should mention I live in Quebec, and it's mighty cold up here.

2)
Also I'm looking to setup a parallel LCD in the car to display the time while the computer is off, I was thinking of using a BASIC stamp, however it occured to me that they don't have batteries for while the car is off, do they? Can a BASIC stamp output to both a computer and parallel LCD at the same time?
