I hope you wirenut or tape those connections before installing it in the car!!!![]()
You may want to remove the pins for the GND and 5V that you cut off as well so there's no chance of shorting out your power supply.
ALAS!!! LOL
after reading and reading and re-reading i finally decided to go ahead and do the mod so that id power my linitx 7" touchscreen through the carpc PSU.
Being a newbie, i really missed havin pics or diagrams to look at, so everything was pictured in my mind by reading.
Therefore for the benefit of newbs like me, and just for reference purposes, i made some pics.
you can see in the pics a female molex connected to a male molex.only the yellow and black cables were needed so i cut the red and other black cable from the female molex.
these two cables(yellow and black) were then connected to the spliced the screens power cable, but still keeping the connector.
now, even the screen turns on wen i start the pc, i dont have to press the screens power button after i turn on the carpc.
I hope it serves for good purpose to you guys!
Please feel free to comment on them or ask any questions.
Thanks.

Nice pics. When I first did it I only sent power forward and I used ground from the vehicle. DO NOT DO THAT. hehe. You get screen jigglys if you do that. Send both ground and power forward off the molex.

Screen Jiggly's eh......is that the technical term LOL. Sorry, but that tickled my funny bone LOL. It's a good idea to ground anything back to the power supply if it came from there in the first place. I find it doesn't take a whole lot more effort to run a ground wire at the same time.

then look for the photo labled:

Good job,
Make sure you get rid of that gift wrapping tape and get yourself some proper electrical tape or heatshrink, one day in the heat and that tape will come right off.
