simple ? about avic z1

i know itis more challenging and fun for everyone to build there own unit but is there currently any setup/software that is capable of doing everything this unit does, ie blue tooth, GREAT GRAPHICS for the navigational unit, voice recognition for almost everything, etc... i was thinking of getting rid of my old pioneer navi unit for this and still build a basic carputer just for my music. But if its possible to build a carputer that can incorporate al ofthis i might just have to. All of the navi programs that i have seen so far are no where as advanced as pioneers when it comes to detailed instruction, graphics voice recognition etc.... unless im looking at the wrong ones.

Yes, you can build a PC for your car that will do everything the Pioneer AVIC-1 can do AND MORE. It will also have superior graphics to any headunit or OEM setup because of the simple nature of the VGA signal.
iGuidance as a navigation app can compare to any OEM navigation system as far as accuracy, roads, instructions, etc. I think you might be looking at the wrong nav apps, as well.

what navi program would u recommend then?

I said iGuidance. Read my post. It's what I use and I'm very happy with it.
Others will tell you Destinator with MapMonkey or FreeDrive wrapper. The Destinator maps aren't as great for North America, from what I understand.

To add another opinion, I like M$ S&T 2006. It came with a USB GPS receiver and the software for $60 on some crazy good Office Max/Depot (forget which) sale. People say can't really use with CarPC due to smallness of text, but actually it is quite nice at least with RoadRunner and 800x600 resolution. Also RoadRunner's Brushed Something-or-another Skin of Doom (or close to that) has buttons for Streets and Trips so the neccessary functions are 1 tap away. Only bad thing, is the whole having to push "Start GPS tracking" and then a little pop-up saying, "Using GPS while driving is dangerous and can lead to colon cancer" (paraphrasing). Just tap yes and your set, but can get annoying if in a super hurry.
