Yea, the guy was a complete wanker. I recieved the two that I ordered, only to find that the on board sound was crap, the motherboard only had one IDE socket, and it was a single channel (CR Rom could be plugged in), the spare slot was infact ISA not PCI, the board would only support upto 2.5gig HDDs and to top this all off the second unit I recieved wouldnt even give me a video output.

i got mine last week... but havent fully tested yet. I know TV out works fine on both of them that i ordered and that about it.
Well i guess you dont really need two IDE controllers if you not going to put in a CDROM and as for the sound .... i dont know yet, have to test it...
If im not mistaken the guy said that bios can be hacked to accept up to 20 gig HD...the question is how ???
    would anyone know?

BTW, the chipset is Cyrix Media GX, you can find the drivers for the sound and video here:
    http://temp:[email protected]/guide/search.htm

The only reason I was ****ed at the single IDE channel, was that I hate having to do an install on one PC then transfer the HDD to the new one. This also gives you a problem that when you do finally get to run the configuration setup in Windows, there is no way of supplying the correct drivers for the hardware as there is obviously no CD Rom to use.

Bear, did you get it to work yet?
Fosgate, when did you order yours? How long did it take for it to be delivered?
Is anyone using it as a MP3 Player?

Starman I received mine in a matter of one week. I live in Sydney so i guess it takes bit longer.
    Did you receive yours yet?

I havent tested the unit yet but i surely will this week. As far as i can see it has all the stuff for the mp3 player. But i guess the important thing is the quality of the sound that it produces.
By the way those units have 64bit processoers did anyone know that ... thats what it says in Datasheet anyway.

The data sheet also said it had on board LAN as well, but I guess that aint so either
Hey Fosgate, did you end up looking for the drivers where I suggested?
You definately will be dissapointed with the onboard sound, but I guess you can use the ISA slot with the old SB 16's we all seem to have lying around collecting dust.
Also, when I get the thing going Windows 98 keep showing a 5 1/2 inch floppy in "My Computer" screen even though I have dissabled the floppy in the bios. Let me know if your is the same when you get her fired up, and if so how the hell can I get rid of it?

Fosgate, have not received one and dont think one will be comming. He is a real wanker, wont even answer an email.....Have to agree with Bear on that!!!.
Still interested in this type of setup.. my current box is just a fraction big for my liking but it does work well. It is a pity he could not deliver the goods, cant complain about the price of 40 dollars....
