Car Alarms and Door Release

I'm looking to buy a new car alarm (probably viper) and it will probably have 2-4 aux channels I want to be able to use these extra channels to pop the doors and trunk open. I don't know too much about alarms, I was told to do this I would need an actuator? for each door and the trunk.

What search terms would I use to find the items on ebay, or can anyone suggest the proper equipement.

Does anyone know how hard this type of installation is?

I currently have a viper alarm in the car and it has two button so it shouldnt be too hard to replace...

You'll be hard-pressed to find actual viper brand equipment on eBay. They're pretty picky about having that sold only via dealers, and only installed by said dealers.

You will need an actuator in each door to pop them, yes. You can probably just search for door actuators on eBay.

Not sure what systems out there will have the channels you need on it to pop each door individually, I know the 790 (security/remote start) only has two spare channels.

Well the actual alarm I'm getting from my dads friend who owns an auto shop, and i may install it myself.

But its more the other equipment im interested in finding on ebay.

Me neither and I didn't think the search term would be that easy lol. The prices look right as well...

Do you know if your door lock would have to be open before the door popped open? Im assuming yes.

Kinda scary if your driving on the highway with your doors locked and all of a sudden a door pops open.

The way I think it works is the actuators pop the door latch, and the black 'plunger' looking things are simple springs that will push the door open whenever the latch is pulled. Depending on your vehicle, your doors will have to be unlocked to allow the latch to be pulled.

At least on Toyotas. I know on some Fords and other cars, when you pull the door handle from the inside, the door gets unlocked.

Well I ordered the SPAL USA 7 channel kit with poppers so when it comes ill let you know how it works out. I've got a friend whos done this type of install before so he's gonna help me out and let me know if i need anything else.

Dang, I guess this is a little late, but make sure you get at least a 45lb kit. I've tried out some of the 15 and 25lb, and they couldn't pop the door...

don't worry! not too late and I got a 40lb kit! I knew the 8 wouldnt be enough. Have you ever used a kit like this?

I have an alarm that automatically opens the lock so just need the solenoid to open the latch and the door popper to "pop" the door right? If so im all set to go.
