Question No keyboard boot up questions.

I have a P3 500mhz compact desktop PC that I am using as a car PC.
One of the problems I have encountered so far, is that I get a mother board error, and the PC will not boot without a keyboard plugged into the PS2 port.

Does anyone know a way around this?
When i eventually install this into my car, I don't want to have a keyboard plugged into the trunk, just so I can boot.

    TIA

Any help or suggestions would be great.

It's a fairly obvious setting in the BIOS. Hold down <DEL> or whatever it is to get into your BIOS on boot and look around. It's usually very conspicuous - there will be a choice from something like "Halt on Error - All but Keyboard" or something like that

It's kind of hit-or-miss with having the BIOS setting that randomjohn mentioned. If you don't have the option, just take apart a keyboard and just plug the circuit board into the PC (typically only a few square inches). Alternatively, you could pick up one of those older numeric keypads that hookup using PS/2.
